How we compare supplements
suppsradar.com ranks supplements not by pack price but by what you actually pay per dose of active ingredient. Below is exactly how that works, where the data comes from and what we deliberately do not do.
1. One benchmark per active ingredient
For every active ingredient we fix a benchmark quantity. All products in that category are converted to that quantity, regardless of pack size, form (powder, capsules, tablets, liquid) or concentration.

2. The formula
The comparison price is the pack price divided by the total amount of active ingredient in the pack, multiplied by the benchmark:
price per benchmark = pack price ÷ active ingredient in pack × benchmark quantity
A 500 g tub of creatine costs €19.95 and contains 500 g creatine. The benchmark for creatine is 100 g. Comparison price: 19.95 ÷ 500 × 100 = €3.99 per 100 g. A 1 kg tub at €34.95 comes to €3.50 per 100 g and therefore ranks higher, even though the total price is higher.
3. Bundle deals
Deals such as "2 for 1" or "buy 3 pay 2" are detected in the product name and included via a multiplier so the effective price per benchmark is correct. The compare page then shows a promo badge next to the product.
4. Where prices come from
Prices, stock and product data come straight from the product feeds of the connected webshops via the Awin and TradeTracker affiliate networks. Every night at 03:00 all feeds are re-imported. Each product on the compare page shows when its price was last checked. Products that disappear from a feed or go out of stock are hidden by default.

5. Amount of active ingredient
The amount of active ingredient per pack comes from the manufacturer's product data (label, feed) and, where available, the Open Food Facts database. For protein powders we use protein per 100 g; for vitamins and minerals the elemental amount (e.g. elemental magnesium, not magnesium citrate). Doubtful cases are checked manually before a product is published.
6. Quality certifications
Where a product carries an independent certification (Informed Sport, NSF Certified for Sport, NutriControl) we show it as a badge. The status is periodically verified with the certifier. A certification does not affect the order; the ranking stays purely price per dose.
7. What we deliberately do not do
- No paid positions in the ranking. If sponsored placements ever appear, they sit apart and are clearly labelled, never among the results.
- No own sales. We link to the webshop; you pay the shop's price there.
- No medical advice. Page content is educational; consult a doctor or dietitian for personal advice.
8. How we make money
If you buy through a link on suppsradar.com, the webshop may pay us a commission. This costs you nothing extra and changes nothing about the price per dose or the order. Read more on the page About suppsradar.com.
